Gakuon Otogami, Chapter 6, Page 1

Gakuon Otogami ( (おと) (がみ) (がく) (おん) Otogami Gakuon) is the main antagonist of the PPPPPP manga series. He is the father and head of the Otogami family. He is a world-renowned pianist and he is infamous for banishing pianists who he views average or mediocre.

Appearance[]

Gakuon has very long hair that reaches down to his feet and it is always in a braid. He also usually is seen with strands of hair covering his eyes and face.

While his children play the piano, their eyes are shown as piano keys. However, Gakuon's eyes are always reminiscent of piano keys. In official art, his eyes are colorful in this form, but it is unclear if that is also true for his children.

He wears extremely long earrings that are made up of gems that slowly grow in size. He wears a necklace as well that is parted into 5 lines that meet in the middle. His necklace may represent the staff in sheet music as it is also made up of 5 lines. He is usually seen wearing traditional Japanese clothing with lettuce-flared sleeves which also flare out near his feet.

Personality[]

Ability[]

At the moment, the range of his abilities are unknown.

History[]

Sometime before the present day, Gakuon dominated many large international piano competitions including The International Chopin Piano Competition, The Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition and The International Tchaikovsky Competition. He was also defeated by Hideo Dada at some point in Japan.

He ridiculed and abused his son Lucky Sonoda for being the only mediocre child and having a lack of imagination and skill at playing the piano. Chocho Sonoda, his wife would always defend Lucky as this would continue for days. Eventually, they divorced and Chocho took Lucky with her. After their divorce, Gakuon moves the rest of his family from Japan to Italy.

An incident occurred where Reijiro purposely made a mistake and got second place for his friend Saiba. Even after the divorce, Gakuon slaps Reijiro in front of his siblings Fanta and Mimin.

Shortly after, Reijiro is kicked and locked in a closet where he misses a performance. Kokore starts a police investigation on this incident leading Gakuon to finally find out about Saiba. He kicks Saiba out of music conservatory that Reijiro was a part of and tells Reijiro that he will never be normal and the only friend he has is the piano.

Mimin Arc[]

Mimin approaches Gakuon complaining about the bad reviews she got from her recital. He agrees with the reviews, claiming that she can't keep playing while thinking about other things. She is being stubborn, which irritates him, and he raises his hand to slap her but Mimin bites his hand before he could. She tells him that he can't keep hitting her, meaning that his abusive behavior frequently happens and has not stopped at all. He tells Mimin to win every contest in Japan and he'll allow her to play however she wants.

Shortly after, the Otogami septuplets are seen waiting in a garden. Gakuon comes outside and thanks them for being born and for their skills, now waiting for the day that only geniuses exist in the musical world. A person in the shadows asks him why he's trying out this plan in Japan, where he responds with, "That's where something bad happened." This can be in reference to him losing to Dada some time ago.
